SAS is world leader in business analytics software and services. Their mission is to deliver proven solutions that drive innovation and improve performance. Athlon, their trusted partner for leasing solutions, is helping them innovate their mobility solutions.
Flexibility, mobility, sustainability
They are all vital to doing business in today’s marketplace. And they are the prime motivators behind a partnership between Athlon, the mobility solutions arm of DLL, and SAS. The payoff? A greener planet, employees with more free time and a mutually beneficial business relationship.
Mobility drives leasing solutions
Remco Korzaan is HR Director at the Dutch operation of SAS, one of the world’s biggest providers of business analytics software and a company that puts sustainability at the heart of its business practice. “A big part of my job is not just the day-to-day management of people, but to try to find innovative ways to improve their well-being. And there’s one area that’s starting to have real impact: fleet management. However, the term is not really accurate anymore. It’s about mobility.”
In the past, car leasing companies encouraged employees to use all of their budget by choosing the most expensive car possible. That changed when SAS started working with leasing solutions partner Athlon two years ago. Since then, the company has introduced a budget not for a car, but for an idea. Mobility.
Flexible working and living
"Together we identified a global trend towards a more flexible way of both working and living," explains Korzaan. He mentions that while SAS has worked with other car leasing companies, Athlon was the one that was really responsible for the mobility idea.
Korzaan: "SAS employees now get a budget they can spend in a way that suits them. If they don’t want to use it all for a car, they can spend the rest on some other form of transport, or even a separate need, such as their children’s education.” Although a mobility budget involves more investment initially for SAS, in the long run it saves money and improves everyone’s quality of life. Both partners believe mobility has to be linked to sustainability.
