Wayne, PA, June 14, 2017 – DLL a global provider of asset-based financial solutions, launched a community involvement initiative focused on supporting hunger-relief efforts in communities across the globe, “Feeding Our Community”.
DLL North America started this inspiring food campaign by partnering with local food banks throughout May and June to collect and/or package meals for those in need. In total, the campaign generated over forty-two thousand meals as well as bulk food donations for hunger-relief organizations in the US and Canada.
The DLL office in Wayne, PA donated 14,378 pounds (6522 kilograms) of food to the Chester County Food Bank, creating approximately 11,982 meals. Members in DLL’s Oakville office collected two full truckloads of food to donate to the Partnership West Food Bank in Canada. Members from the Johnston, Iowa office packaged an impressive 30,024 meals for the homeless in partnership with Meals from the Heartland.
“It was inspiring to see our members come together to donate not just their time but such a generous amount of food to those in need,” Jeff Berg, EVP of North America remarked. “We also learned that at this time of the year, many food banks struggle to keep their shelves full. The timing of this community involvement program really made a positive impact when these food banks struggle the most. I am so proud of the generosity and commitment the team demonstrated.”
The donations in North America were part of a larger DLL initiative dedicated to fighting hunger across more than 30 countries worldwide.
DLL has a comprehensive community involvement program designed to make a positive societal impact. Members are offered two paid days per year to volunteer during working hours. Additionally activities include environmental protection and food supply, economic vitality and entrepreneurship, ensuring quality in healthcare and care for people, and youth empowerment and financial literacy.
