Wayne, PA – On Tuesday, December 13, service men and women from DLL presented approximately 1,200 new, unwrapped toys to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. Bob Lohr, the program’s coordinator for Chester and Western Montgomery Counties, received the donation at the company’s U.S. headquarters in Wayne.
In addition to the annual toy donation by individual DLL members, a fundraising effort spearheaded by the Operations department raised more than $4,000, facilitating the purchase of an additional 998 toys.
“The primary goal of this year’s campaign was to bring members together in a new way,” said Jennifer Fisher, Vice President of Operations at DLL. “The results were overwhelming…several departments even chose to forego their customary gift exchanges, instead using that money to buy even more toys for the cause.”
For almost two decades, DLL has supported Toys for Tots in its efforts to provide new toys to the area’s less fortunate children during the Christmas season. The program aims for these toys to deliver a message of hope that will assist these children in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.
